Laptop Case – Zulu

This Laptop Case - Zulu brown leather made from a 100% South African Cow Leather with tribal design cotton weave on the front. Our brown leather, buffed, coated in oil and burned through an ironing press. Once in use, the oil disperses into the hide, softening the leather from the inside out. This creates a distress appearance with a soft velvet touch. Interior of Laptop Case - Zulu brown leather lined with original South African Shweshwe fabric for your laptop’s comfort and style. This Laptop Case also comes with a durable nylon zip for closure. As a matter of fact all our NAVA Apparel bags are handmade by local South African craftswomen.

Artist Inspiration: The Zulu Collection designed to represent the Zulu people of South Africa. Zulu people are native people of Southern Africa, also originating from Nguni communities who took part in the Bantu migrations over millennia. The Zulu people are certainly the largest ethnic group in South Africa, mainly living in KwaZulu-Natal province. Our Zulu Collection made for the strong, as the Zulu people are resilient warriors.

Shweshwe a printed cotton fabric widely used for traditional South African clothing. The fabric manufactured in a variety of colours and printing designs characterised by intricate geometric patterns. Shweshwe described as the denim of South Africa. This fabric traditionally used to make dresses, skirts, aprons and wraparound clothing. Shweshwe clothing traditionally worn by newly married Xhosa women, known as makoti, and married Sotho women. Xhosa women also incorporated the fabric into their traditional ochre-coloured blanket clothing. Aside from traditional wear, shweshwe used in contemporary South African fashion design for women and men from all ethnic groups, as well as for making accessories and upholstery. Also used in the United States as a quilting fabric.
