Women’s NAVA Veldskoen – Phuthi

Our Women's NAVA Veldskoen - Phuthi leather shoes a modernised version of the original South African Veldskoen. Manufactured from 100% South African cow leather with a multicolour tribal fabric weave and brown leather trim finish. The interior of our Women's NAVA Veldskoen - Phuthi leather shoes, also lined with leather and fitted with fibreboard inner-soles. Also covered in latex foam and wrapped with leather for your comfort. Subsequently, our fiber board innersoles much more breathable and durable. Therefor lasting up to 10 years, as well as helping to prevent soles from splitting in half. Fitted with genuine rubber soles for outstanding quality and good grip. All soles can be replaced and recycled when needed. As a matter of fact all NAVA Apparel shoes handmade by local South African craftsmen and women. Without their skills, our quality products wouldn't exist.

Veldskoene or vellies, Southern African walking shoes made from vegetable-tanned leather or soft rawhide uppers. Attached to a leather footbed and rubber sole without tacks or nails. The name comes from Afrikaans vel ("skin"). Later assimilated with veld ("field"), and skoene ("shoes"). First made in the 17th century by the first Dutch settlers in South Africa. Their design also believed to be based on the traditional Khoisan footwear observed by these settlers. The footwear later embedded into the Afrikaaner psyche when velskoene were used as the footwear of the Great Trek.

Artist Inspiration: The Phuthi Collection designed to represent the Phuthi people of South Africa. a Bantu-speaking ethnic group from the Basotho Kingdom. This group live primarily in the southern parts of Lesotho. The Collection made for the brave and independent explorer, who will survive the ages of time through his / her strength and determination.
