Our Postman Bag Leather - Black made from a 100% South African Cow Leather. The Black Leather we use to make this bag with is a premium quality leather with a waxy finish. The wax is buffed into the leather which helps to repel water drops off the leather, hence making it more water resistant.

The interior of this Postman Bag Leather - Black also lined with South African Shweshwe fabric for strength and style. Sporting a live edge fold over flap, antique brass fittings and adjustable shoulder strap. As well as a zipped pocket on the back. Hence the Postman Bag is great for travelling, being the perfect size for all essential items. All NAVA Apparel bags are handmade by local South African craftswomen.

When buying one of our Bags you're supporting our women's workshop in Cape Town. All women work for themselves and get paid per item. We operate as a fair-trade business and thereby also creating more jobs in South Africa. Giving women an opportunity to empower themselves by operating their own little business within our business. Shweshwe a printed cotton fabric widely used for traditional South African clothing. Manufactured in a variety of colours and designs characterised by intricate geometric patterns. Shweshwe described as the denim of South Africa. Traditionally used to make wraparound clothing, dresses and accessories. Shweshwe clothing traditionally worn by newly married Xhosa and Sotho women, known as makoti. Xhosa women also incorporated the fabric into their traditional ochre-coloured blanket clothing. Aside from traditional wear, shweshwe used in contemporary South African fashion for women and men from all ethnic groups.
